SKILLS REQUIRED:

The Assistant to the Shop Mechanic position has a vital role within our industrial machine shop. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our company, contributing significantly to our business success. The Assistant to our Mechanic will utilize their mechanical expertise to help to perform and learn how to provide assistance in maintenance, repairs, and installations, ensuring that our shop mechanic will receive help in completing his job. Applicant needs to have the ability to learn and retain knowledge that you will experience daily in the Shop. Applicants will be asked to perform duties many times many times and it will be expected that you can independently perform these tasks in a reasonable amount of time after training. RESONSIBLITIES:

Aid the mechanic in assembly and disassembly of motors and other projects that are assigned to your department.

Aid in regular inspections of motors to detect malfunctions, including visual checks and listening for irregular noises.

Keep shop clean, sweep shop daily, keep tools and equipment organized and clean. Notify shop Foreman if you find any defective equipment.

Ability to use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions effectively.

Maintain cleanliness of machinery and the surrounding workplace.

Ability to learn and follow steps to assist in building and taking apart motors.

Work overtime as required to complete repairs and support production schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Mechanical and manufacturing experience or eagerness to learn.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.

Competence in emergency situations.

Organized and detail oriented.

Precision work skills and measurement abilities, such as reading dial calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

Take a DISC Test

KNOWLEDGE OF:

· Nuts & bolts

· Using a tape measure

· Hand tools

· Able to use ladders; no fear of heights

SALARY:

$15.00 per hour, some experience.

$20.00 per hour, personal experience working in the auto or motor industry, certifications, industrial or automotive experience.
